WHY SHOULD I HIRE A PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP ARTIST FOR MY WEDDING DAY?
Your wedding day is such an incredible moment that you will want to relive for years to come. You’re the bride and all eyes will be on you. Candid moments will be captured as you transform from bride-to-be to wife by your photographer and/or videographer. The last thing you’ll want to worry about is how you look or to fathom disappointment when your video and photos are finally returned but you hate the way you look.
As an experienced freelance makeup professional, predominantly in the bridal industry, I have been fortunate to work on quite a number of weddings. Some key important things I have learned is your wedding day requires attention to detail. It is understanding lighting (indoors and out), the shapes and curves of the face and proper color match and correction. Every detail of makeup application, inclusive of your experience as the bride will translate in your photos and video footage that will be shared with countless others and kept as a keepsake for many years to come. My objective is not only to make you look amazing but to feel your absolute greatest too.

I am based in New Jersey. However, I do travel within the U.S. and internationally.

DO YOU PROVIDE BRIDAL HAIR SERVICES AS WELL?
Unfortunately, I do not specialize in hair. However, I can recommend wonderful salon that specializes in natural hair and extensions.

DO YOU PROVIDE CONSULTATION SERVICES?
Yes. I highly recommend trial/consultations services as an opportunity for you to further get to know me. The consultation is also where you can personally share your wedding day /or event vision in detail and an opportunity for you to preview the final look for your wedding day. Our consultation will help me have a better understanding of your skin and features so that I may custom create how to best service you on your wedding day.
HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY CONSULTATION?
Depending on the date of your wedding /or event, practicing great skin care will only enhance the final makeup look. Schedule a consultation with your dermatologist if you can. However, in the mean time, drink plenty of water, wear sunscreen, tone and hydrate your skin daily through masks, serums and moisturizers. I would not recommend any invasive/ harsh treatments that may lead you to have sensitive skin before your trial.
If you have photos of the look you envision on your wedding day, feel free to bring them. Artists are visual people. Having an understanding of your level of comfort with makeup through photos will help eliminate confusion. However, keep in mind the photo is only for inspirational purposes only.
WHERE WOULD A TRIAL/CONSULTATION TAKE PLACE AND HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?
The location of your trial is completely your choice. However, do bear in mind if travel is required, there may be a travel fee. Louigene Artistry trials take about 90 -120 minutes. Not only is it a time for the artist and bride to connect but it is a full trial that replicates the service you would receive on the day of the wedding.
DO YOU PROVIDE AIRBRUSH SERVICES?
No. I love using traditional brushes and beauty sponges for makeup application.
WHAT MAKEUP BRANDS DO YOU USE?
I do not believe in a one-size fits all. Therefore, I carry a diverse range of products that have stood the test of time and skin types from high-end to drugstore favorites (i.e.,YSL, Marc Jacobs Beauty, Benefit Cosmetics, Black Opal etc.,). Including some beauty industry exclusive favorites.
HOW LONG DOES EACH MAKEUP APPLICATION TAKE?
Individual makeup applications can take about 60 -75 minutes. However, I enjoy spending extra time with my brides to not only ensure the her skin is prepared for makeup application but will translate flawlessly across professional photography and videography. The bride’s service takes about 75-90 minutes, inclusive of skincare prep. Each makeup application is intended for long-wear that lasts beyond the dance floor.
CAN YOU ACCOMMODATE A LARGE WEDDING PARTY?
Absolutely. It ultimately depends on the bridal size, the makeup look and the when the bridal party would need to be ready by. Keep in mind the duration for each application as answered in the previous question. For bridal parties 7 or more, an assistant or second artist may be required.
WILL I BE YOUR ONLY EVENT ON THE DAY OF MY WEDDING?
It ultimately depends on your service request and/or the number of people that will require services.
WILL MY MAKEUP LAST ALL NIGHT? WHAT IF I CRY?
The Louigene Artistry makeup application is meant to last until you are ready to take the makeup off. However, I do recommend touch-up services for events during humid summer months. Tears should not distort the overall makeup. Touch-up services ensure your best is captured throughout your special night.
DO YOU OFFER YOUR SERVICES FOR DESTINATION WEDDINGS? IF SO, WHAT DOES IT INCLUDE?
Absolutely, destination weddings are exciting but depending on the location, recommended services may be unpredictable or may not be what you envisioned. Having a traveling takes the fear and doubt of the situation and allows you peace of mind of what you can expect.
Destination bridal clients are responsible for the following accommodations: round trip airfare, round trip ground transportation to and from the airport, hotel /or resort stay (2-3 nights depending on destination), per diem meals (to be further determined based on rates of location or whether all inclusive), and round trip checked bag (depending on the number within bridal party).

WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR MY SERVICE BEFORE YOU RENDER SERVICE?
On your special day, with so many moving pieces happening all at once, the last thing you or your artist should have to think about is your remaining balance. The makeup application is about the experience from the moment you sit in the glam chair up to the moment you begin to get dressed.
